With the launch of our new, user-friendly website, Beacon readers have several ways to keep abreast of the community news that affects their daily lives.
As always, the Beacon newspaper is free at racks and stacks throughout Edmonds and surrounding areas. Many of our readers enjoy picking it up when they go out for their morning cup of coffee or run their chores.
Where carriers are available, readers can have the paper delivered directly to their doorstep. It’s still free, but we encourage readers to tip their carriers, most who are learning responsibility and earning money on their first-ever job.
Readers who prefer to receive their newspaper in the mail are welcome to go that route. Cost is $80 per year, which just covers the cost of postage. Six-month and two-year subscriptions also are available.
And now, readers who prefer to access their community news online can enjoy the Beacon’s new and robust website, designed with a clean, easy-to-read look and updated regularly at http://www.edmondsbeacon.com.
You’ll often see stories – including breaking news – online before print publication. You’ll also find extras, such as reader photos and content we weren’t able to fit into print.
Navigation is a breeze.
Drop-down menus provide easy access to news, opinion, schools, sports, arts and entertainment, and a calendar of events. Want to find an old story or dig into some research? Our search function makes it easy.
Want to travel beyond Edmonds? The new site allows you to visit the Beacon’s newspapers in Mukilteo and Mill Creek. You can also take a leisurely stroll through our annual guides to Edmonds and Mukilteo.
We think you’ll love the update. The mobile-friendly site boasts responsive design – designed to fit whatever screen you use – so you can access it on any of your devices.
Readers are invited to try it out for free for one month. After that, it’s a low $2.95 per month – about a dime a day – to keep abreast of the news that affects your lives, 24/7, from City Hall to the Police Beat to the business community, schools, youth sports and more.
Registered users will be able to post reader comments on articles, read the current edition, access the archives, and more. Our contact information is much improved – it’s where you can submit a press release, advertising queries, calendar events, classifieds, and more.
Another plus: We’re providing the full paper online in PDF form, meaning you can read the paper online exactly how it looks in print. Missed last week’s copy, or the week before? Users can access past copies anytime they wish.
